Spring Equinox

Welcome to the time of the perfect balance between light and dark, feminine and masculine, the Spring Equinox. This year, the Equinox is on Saturday March 20 when the sun enters Aries. It is a time when the day and the night are of equal length everywhere on the planet. While there is one day of perfect balance, it is really the season of rebirth. Some consider it the New Year, as the light is growing signaling that we need to plant new seeds, sow new intentions, and find new ways.

It's going to be hard to sow anything new if we don't work on clearing and cleaning – old thought patterns and core beliefs, dated rules of life, a dying patriarchy's script for how things are and should be. The old world paradigm is falling. The old paradigm's we've been programmed with and grown up with, or developed ourselves for any multitude of reasons need to end as well.

Where could you create a healthier balance in your life? Is there anyone or anything that is not supporting or serving you in a positive way? Have you outgrown some old ways? This is a powerful equinox for creating our future reality. Come from your heart in figuring out what works for you. Try to stay with I feel rather than I think. The Fifth Dimension, where the world is headed, is heart centered and comes from a place of love. So, we need to as well. This is all easier said than done. And to make it more challenging, most of us have a system of defenses we've constructed which can make it hard to even see our negative thought and emotional patterns.

So, how do we even begin this? First and foremost, we love ourselves – shadow and all. We embrace it. We accept it. We know we'll work on some of this our whole lives. Welcome to being a human being! Songwriter extraordinaire Leonard Cohen says it best in his brilliant song Anthem -

“Ring the bells that still can ring

Forget your perfect offering.

There is a crack in everything

That's how the light gets in.”

You have to love the humor and the irony of this human condition. Mainly because - what else are you going to do? Stumble through your life repeating the same mistakes endlessly? And if you do, I guarantee, it will only get worse as you get older. I've done readings for thousands of people for more than twenty years. This is one of the universal truths that I've found. People who choose to be “unconscious” in how they live their lives will get worse over time. So, let's take the road less travelled. And, while we work on ourselves and our lives, we need to laugh – a lot. At us, our shared flaws and shadows, our struggles, our common denominator – we all have cracks. We're all in this together.

Transformation and true growth demands changes in your conscious and unconscious mind. This is not an easy threshold to cross. There are many systems and processes out there that can help you to break a pattern. One that I like is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- because it seems to work for so many who try it. While seeing a therapist is wonderful, there are also many great books and workbooks out there using this method. Give one a try. Maybe it will give you a solid tool to help you move through and move forward.

I also like these two affirmations:

I am releasing the patterns of consciousness that have created (whatever it is) and that don't serve me anymore.

I am beyond my old limitations. I am free and thinking and feeling in new positive ways.

The Equinox time can help and support you wherever you are in your process. Be open and accepting of yourself as you're working on things. Use this new cycle to help create momentum. We have more ability to manifest now, and we need to be wise with that power. As we grow and change ourselves, we are changing the earth the the universe. This is why the old paradigm is falling. We brilliant humans have brought this on collectively. So, be mindful of what you put out there. The days grow longer as the light is rising. What would you like to be rising in your life now?

To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,

-One clover, and a bee, and revery.

The revery alone will do

If bees are few.

-Emily Dickinson

Be courageous in creating your new world reality. Spend time in “revery” about it. Do it from a place and a feeling of love. Releasing, healing, rededicating ourselves, renewing our purpose or finding new purpose is sacred work. It is working with the Divine and with the Divine in yourself, It is the hero's or heroine's journey. I believe it is one of our true reasons for even being here. Let's support and honor each other on our personal journey's. In the end -“We're all just walking each other home.” Ram Dass

I salute you.
